Ski Trainers
Rachael Milner
Rachael grew up skiing in Scotland. After university she followed some friends to NZ where she happened to get a job instructing at Cardrona. 18 years and 36 seasons later, she’s still going back and forth between the US and NZ. Rachael is currently the Cardrona ITC Manager and an NZSIA Examiner.
Dave Taylor
Dave also grew up skiing the edge deep powder of Scotland. He came to New Zealand and Cardrona in 1998 and went through the NZSIA system, becoming an Examiner in 2002. He has been on the Ski Technical Committee since 2007 and is now the Head Ski Trainer at Cardrona.
Bob Irwin
Bob's been teaching skiing since 1979 and has more than 50 seasons experience from across Austria, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand and North America. More recently, Bob spent four years as the Treble Cone Ski School Director before becoming a member of the Instructor Training Centre at Cardrona.
Steve Trout
Another guru of ski instruction, Steve rivals Bob for the record at Cardrona for the most seasons of teaching experience. Steve is an NZSIA Examiner and a very popular Instructor/Trainer here at Cardrona and works the opposite season over in North America.
Simon Grove
In 1996 Simon moved to Lake Wanaka to seek his fortune in ski Instruction. He's been teaching back-to-back winters between Mammoth Mountain in California and New Zealand since 1997, and started at Cardona in 2002. Simon became an NZSIA Examiner in 2007 and now works Trainer with ITC.
Mark Magill
Mark has taught skiing for over 20 years and 30 seasons, and is another NZSIA Examiner. He's done seasons in Queenstown, at Silverstar in Canada, Beaver Creek in Colorado, and has spent the last few here at the Cardrona ITC.
Bridget Legnavsky
Bridget has been teaching skiing since 1989 and has taught in NZ, USA, Japan and Europe. She is a senior Examiner and the former President of the NZSIA. Bridget is now the Cardrona Snowsports Centre Director, but still finds time to get out training with ITC candidates.
Yolinde Magill
Yolinde (aka Yoyo) began teaching skiing in 1995 at Treble Cone before going onto work at the Queesntown resorts, as well various resorts in Switzerland, Canada and the USA. Yoyo became an examiner in 2003 and made the move over to Cardrona in 2007.
Kirsty Hole
Kirsty began skiing up at Whakapapa as a wee nipper. She began her endless winter in 2004 and has since worked/played at resorts across the USA, Canada, Europe and NZ. Kirsty became an NZISA Examiner in 2008 and is currently the Manager of the Adults Ski School at Cardrona.
